What we collect
- Contact and order details: your name, email, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, what you ordered and your order history.
- Account details: your login, saved addresses, subscriptions, rewards points and reviews you write.
- Wholesale details, if you apply for or hold a wholesale account: your business name, contact details and the information you give us with your application.
- Payment details: payments are handled by our payment providers. We see the payment type and the last digits of a card, but never your full card number.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, phone, our contact form or social media.
- Website use: pages you view, products you look at or add to your cart, the device and browser you use, your approximate location and how you arrived at our site. This is collected by cookies and similar tools (see "Cookies, analytics and advertising").
Why we use it
- To take, pack, ship and track your orders, and to run your subscriptions, rewards and wholesale account.
- To answer your questions and deal with returns and faults.
- To send you emails or texts about offers and new products, if you have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, by replying STOP to a text, or by contacting us.
- To understand how people use our site and to improve it.
- To show our ads to people who may be interested, and to measure whether those ads work.
- To use customer email addresses to build or exclude advertising audiences (see "Who we share it with"). Email us if you want to be left out.
- To prevent fraud and misuse, and to meet our legal duties, such as keeping tax records.
If you do not give us your contact and delivery details, we cannot process your order.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with people who help us run the business, and only as much as they need:
- Shopify: runs our online store, checkout, customer accounts and order records.
- Our payment providers: to take payment, as shown at checkout.
- Courier and postal companies: your name, delivery address and phone number, to deliver your order.
- Appstle: runs our Subscribe & Save plans, Stack n Save bundles and rewards programme.
- Wholesale Helper: runs wholesale pricing and wholesale orders for approved wholesale accounts.
- Judge.me: collects and shows product reviews, and may email you after a purchase to ask for one.
- Xero: our accounting system, which receives order and invoice details.
- Google (Google Analytics G-NS8S3JFGYY, Google tag GT-NB38TVXM, Google Ads and Merchant Center): site analytics, advertising and measuring ad results.
- Meta (Meta pixel 3679213135655667, for Facebook and Instagram): advertising and measuring ad results.
- Our marketing agency, and advertising platforms such as Meta and Google: we may share customer email addresses so ads can reach people similar to our customers, or skip people who already are. The platforms match these in a scrambled (hashed) form.
- Our professional advisers, and government agencies or courts when the law requires it.
Storing and sending information overseas
Shopify, Appstle, Wholesale Helper, Judge.me and Xero hold information for us, some of it outside New Zealand (including in Canada, the United States, the European Union and Australia), and we stay responsible for it. Google and Meta, and the advertising platforms we share hashed email addresses with, also use some information for their own purposes. They are overseas and may not be required to protect it in a way that, overall, provides comparable safeguards to those in the Privacy Act 2020. We tell you this so you can decide: if you do not want your information shared with them, block cookies as described below and email us to be left out of advertising audiences. Using our site and buying from us after reading this means you authorise these disclosures.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our site uses cookies and similar tools from Shopify, Google, Meta, Appstle and Judge.me to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used and show you relevant ads on other sites and apps. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site (such as the cart) may stop working. You can also manage ads using Google's My Ad Center, your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences, and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Keeping your information safe
We use trusted providers with strong security, limit who in our team can see your information, and never ask for card details by email or phone. If a privacy breach has caused or is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for 7 years, as New Zealand tax law requires. We keep other information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete it or make it anonymous.
Seeing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Contact our privacy officer. We will reply within 20 working days and will not charge you for this. You can also update your details in your account.
Complaints
If you have a concern, contact our privacy officer first and we will try to put it right. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Changes to this policy
